Bandarban is not just a travel destination—it is an emotion for nature lovers. Surrounded by towering green hills, calm lakes, zigzag mountain roads, and peaceful tribal villages, Bandarban offers a rare escape from the noise of city life. Recently, I visited Bandarban with one of my close friends on a 2-day trip, and the experience was truly unforgettable.

From boating in the serene Prantik Lake, hill trekking at Meghla, watching mesmerizing sunsets at Nilachol, to exploring the breathtaking beauty of Boga Lake and the journey towards Kewkaradong, every moment of this trip felt magical.

In this article, I am sharing my complete travel experience, highlights, and personal feelings from my Bandarban tour, hoping it will help and inspire fellow travelers planning their own adventure.

Why Bandarban is One of the Best Travel Destinations in Bangladesh

Bandarban is located in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and is known for its natural beauty, calm environment, and rich tribal culture. Unlike other tourist spots in Bangladesh, Bandarban offers:

  • Endless green hills and valleys
  • Crystal-clear lakes and waterfalls
  • Foggy mountain roads and scenic viewpoints
  • Tribal villages with simple and peaceful lifestyles

If you are someone who loves mountains, silence, and raw nature, Bandarban is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit in Bangladesh.

Day 1: Exploring Prantik Lake, Meghla, and Nilachol

Peaceful Boating Experience at Prantik Lake

Our Bandarban journey began with a visit to Prantik Lake, a place that instantly made us fall in love with nature. The lake is calm, clean, and surrounded by green hills, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

We enjoyed boating on Prantik Lake, slowly moving across the still water while taking in the fresh air and silence. The reflection of the surrounding hills on the water made the view even more beautiful. It was one of those moments where time seemed to stop, and all worries faded away.

Why Prantik Lake is special:

  • Calm and less crowded
  • Perfect for boating and relaxation
  • Ideal for photography and peaceful moments

Hill Trekking and Adventure at Meghla

After Prantik Lake, we headed towards Meghla Tourist Complex, another popular attraction in Bandarban. Meghla is known for its hilly terrain, open spaces, and adventurous walking trails.

We enjoyed hill trekking at Meghla, climbing up and down the slopes while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Walking through the hills made us feel energized and connected to nature. The fresh mountain air and greenery all around added to the experience.

Meghla is a great place for travelers who want a mix of adventure and scenic beauty.

Sunset, Foggy Evening, and Mountain Views from Nilachol

The highlight of our first day was visiting Nilachol, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Bandarban. As we reached Nilachol, the weather slowly became foggy, creating a dreamy atmosphere.

We were lucky enough to witness a stunning sunset at Nilachol, where the sky changed colors and the hills slowly disappeared under layers of fog. The total mountain view, covered with mist and greenery, was absolutely breathtaking.

The foggy evening at Nilachol made the environment calm and mysterious. Standing there, overlooking endless hills, we felt a deep sense of peace that is hard to describe in words.

Nilachol is perfect for:

  • Sunset lovers
  • Mountain and fog photography
  • Experiencing peace and silence

Day 2: Journey to Boga Lake and Kewkaradong

Scenic Mountain Roads and Chander Gari Experience

On the second day, we started early for our journey towards Boga Lake and Kewkaradong. The journey itself was one of the most exciting parts of the trip.

We traveled by Chander Gari, which allowed us to enjoy a 360-degree view of the surrounding hills. On both sides of the road, we saw massive green mountains, cloudy skies, and deep valleys. The zigzag and slopy mountain roads added thrill to the journey.

The roads were sometimes covered with clouds, creating a magical feeling—as if we were driving through the sky.

Passing Through the Cleanest Village in Bangladesh

One of the most impressive parts of the journey was passing through what is known as the cleanest village in Bangladesh. The village was extremely neat, organized, and peaceful.

The simple houses, clean roads, and smiling local people reflected the beauty of tribal life in the hills. Observing the lifestyle of these villages made us appreciate a slower, simpler way of living.

Boating and Exploring the Beauty of Boga Lake

Finally, we reached Boga Lake, one of the most famous natural lakes in Bangladesh. Surrounded by hills, Boga Lake looks like a hidden paradise.

We enjoyed boating in Boga Lake, gliding through the deep blue-green water while enjoying the scenic surroundings. The calmness of the lake and the cool breeze made the experience refreshing.

The Boga Lake View Point is another must-visit spot. From the viewpoint, the entire lake looks stunning, making it perfect for photography. Every angle of Boga Lake feels like a postcard.

Watching Unknown Villages and Hills on the Way to Kewkaradong

As we continued our journey towards Kewkaradong, the highest peak in Bangladesh, we passed through several unknown villages and remote areas. These villages are rarely visited by tourists, making them feel untouched and authentic.

The refreshing views of the hills, endless green mountains, and quiet surroundings were simply mind-blowing. Every turn of the road revealed a new landscape, making the journey unforgettable.

Even without reaching the very peak, the journey itself felt like an achievement.

Overall Experience: A Trip That Touched the Soul

This 2-day Bandarban trip with my friend was not just about visiting places—it was about experiencing nature, silence, and beauty in its purest form.

From calm lakes and foggy evenings to thrilling mountain roads and peaceful villages, everything about Bandarban felt refreshing and soul-soothing. The green hills, fresh air, and natural beauty made this trip one of the most memorable journeys of my life.

Travel Tips for Visiting Bandarban

  • Best time to visit: October to March
